Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately — you can use the new features right away. Downgrades apply at the start of your next billing cycle, so you keep your current features until then.
How does annual billing work? expand_more
Annual billing charges you upfront for 12 months — Pro at £39.99/year and Premium at £59.99/year. That's roughly 17% less than paying monthly. Your subscription renews automatically each year. Cancel before the renewal date and you keep access until the end of your paid period.
Is my financial data safe? expand_more
Yes. All data is encrypted with 256-bit AES both at rest (in Azure Cosmos DB) and in transit (TLS). Authentication uses Google OAuth exclusively — ExpenzX never stores your password. We cannot access your bank accounts or move money; we only store the transaction data you enter or scan.
Does AI receipt scanning always work? expand_more
AI receipt scanning uses Azure Document Intelligence to read the receipt, then OpenAI to assign the right category and write a clean description. If the AI is unavailable or the receipt is unclear, ExpenzX falls back gracefully — using the merchant name and leaving the category for you to select manually. Either way, the amount is captured.
What happens if I exceed my budget? expand_more
ExpenzX sends you alerts as your spending approaches and exceeds each budget limit. On the Premium plan, the AI budget advisor also analyses your historical spending to suggest more realistic limits — helping you set budgets you'll actually stick to, not just aspirational ones.
How do recurring transactions work? expand_more
Set up a recurring template (e.g. monthly salary, weekly groceries, annual insurance) and ExpenzX will automatically create the transaction on each due date. You can choose from daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly, quarterly, or yearly frequencies, and optionally set an end date. Transactions generate automatically in the background without any input from you.
Can I get a refund? expand_more
We offer a 7-day refund window from the date of your first paid charge. After that, payments are non-refundable, but you retain full access until your billing period ends. Contact our support team if you have any issues.
