Ask ExpenzX AI Premium Web
Ask ExpenzX AI lets you ask plain-English questions about your own money — "How much did I spend on dining last month?", "Am I over budget?", "How does this year compare to last year?" — and get a clear answer, often with a chart, drawn straight from your recorded transactions.
Opening the assistant
The assistant is available on every screen of the web app:
- Click the robot icon in the top navigation bar.
- A panel slides in from the right — type your question and press Enter.
- Answers appear in a short conversation; close the panel any time with the ✕ or the Esc key.
What you can ask
Anything you could work out from your own transactions, budgets, and reports. For example:
- "How much did I spend on groceries last month?"
- "What were my top spending categories in February?"
- "How much did I spend this financial year so far?"
- "Is my spending higher this year than last year?"
- "Am I over any of my budgets this month?"
- "Can I afford a £400 trip?"
Answers with charts
When a comparison or trend makes the answer clearer, the assistant includes a chart alongside the text — a bar chart of your categories for a month, a line showing spending over time, a breakdown by financial year, or a simple headline figure. The numbers in every chart come directly from your recorded data.
Grounded in your own data
Ask ExpenzX AI only ever works from a private summary of your figures — category totals, monthly summaries, budgets, and financial-year figures. It's the same underlying numbers you see on your Reports and Dashboard, so its answers stay consistent with the rest of the app.
Staying on topic
The assistant is built for your finances and nothing else. If you ask something it can't answer from your data — general trivia, or a period it doesn't have figures for — it will say so rather than guess. This keeps every answer trustworthy and grounded in what you've actually recorded.
